15 is in the books Chris Joyce (Vancouver) has come up with the WCFHL Awards for Season 15. Thanks a lot for the work Chris. Hart Trophy Nominees: Mike Green, Sidney Crosby, Mark Streit Winner: Sidney Crosby takes the Hart this year edging out Mike Green and Mark Streit. Crosby put up huge numbers without the supporting cast that other teams had. Crosy edged out blueliner Mark Steit who had a career year on a weak Florida roster. Fellow defencemen Mike Green had a huge year but had did have the likes of Ovechkin and Semin helping his cause. Vezina Trophy Nominees: Martin Brodeur, Roberto Luongo, Dwayne Roloson Winner: Martin Brodeur was near the top of every category statistically and led the Flames to the President's Trophy and the Stanley Cup Finals. Norris Trophy Nominees: Scott Niedermayer, Mike Green, Mark Streit Winner: Mike Green When a defencemen wins the Art Ross this decison was a no-brainer. Nevertheless Mark Streit made it a close vote as he had an equally good year on a much weaker squad Calder Trophy Nominees: David Krejci, Patrick O'Sullivan, David Booth Winner: David Booth takes this one as he was a huge factor in the Panthers winning the Eastern Conference. Patrick O'Sullivan made it a close race having a standout year in Toronto Lady Byng Trophy Nominees: Tomas Plekanec, Phil Kessel, Alexander Semin Winner: Phil Kessel had a very productive season finishing 6th in goals scored and 8th in total points. Doing all this he only amassesd 8 PIM. Selke Trophy Nominees: Ryan Kesler, Alexandre Burrows, Scott Hartnell Winner: Kesler takes this one by a landslide. While putting up a great year offensivly he is also a great shutdown center. Conn Smythe Trophy Winner: Mike Green of the Washington Capitals William M. Jennings Trophy – Best Combined GAA Martin Brodeur and Thomas Greiss, Calgary Flames (2.68 GAA) Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy – Top Goal Scorer Henrik Zetterberg , Detroit Red Wings (48 goals scored) Art Ross Trophy – Top Point Scorer Mike Green, Washington Capitals (34-75-109) The Freight Train Award – Most Hits Mike Komisarek, Atlanta Thrashers (294) Bud Ice +/- Award Ryan Kesler, Vancouver Canucks (+45) Jack Adams - Best Coach Nominees: Jim Playfair(CAL), Peter DeBoer(FLA), Alain Vigneault(VAN) Winner: Peter DeBoer wins this as nobody did more with less.
